Report ArchiveUpdated with added context: Prime Video uses different files for the various versions of its movies and Fourth Take has confirmed that the UHD version of Robin Hood does not have this text (users can check it for themselves).
Now that it has been made public, it’s likely the service is working on fixing this.

The 2010 version of Robin Hood, starring Russell Crowe, is having a moment online because a TikTok user uploaded a video that alleged Amazon is censoring the movie.
In the video, Ava (who goes by @avatripi), shows the opening minutes of the movie where it should have text that reads:
In times of tyranny and injustice, when law oppresses the people, the outlaw takes his place in history.
@avatripi it literally just shows a blank piece of paper now when you start the movie. WHY DONT THEY WANT US SEEING THIS? WHY DONT THEY WANT US KNOWING THIS? START ASKING QUESTIONS. #help#usa#sos#tyranny#greenscreen ♬ original sound – ava
Instead of that, it simply shows a blank page. This has been verified by various other US watchers, one of whom asked audiences in the UK and other regions to confirm this.
This discovery comes a week after Amazon was put in the political crosshairs by the Trump administration for planning on putting a tariff cost on visible prices in the US. After the administration called it a “hostile and political act”, it was reported that the president called Jeff Bezos and the two talked it out.
The 2010 version of Robin Hood was directed by Ridley Scott and stars Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, William Hurt, Mark Strong, Mark Addy, Oscar Isaac, Danny Huston, Eileen Atkins, and Max von Sydow. It was produced by Imagine Entertainment, Relativity Media and Scott Free Productions, with Universal handling distribution.
