About Fourth Take

The story starts with a headline. Fourth Take follows the people, power and decisions behind it.

The bigger picture

A film is shaped by the people who made it. A product changes the world around it. A political decision reaches far beyond the room where it was made.

Fourth Take brings those connections into view, with sharp reporting, spirited reviews and analysis across entertainment, technology and politics.

Entertainment

Go behind the screen. Follow the films, shows, creators and studios moving culture.

Technology

Meet the ideas, products and companies remaking how we live.

Politics

Trace the decisions, people and places shaping public life.

Explore further

Move from an article into the wider story. Layers of the World lets you explore places through different lenses. Subject pages connect people, organisations and works. The Archive keeps earlier Fourth Take stories in reach.

Follow a thread. Change the lens. See what else comes into focus.

Fourth Take Studio

Every story has a starting point. Studio brings the newsroom together around it: developing coverage, research, sources, drafts and the decisions that take a piece to publication.

Studio is in Invite-Only Alpha. Invited writers and creators can follow a lead through the Newsroom, build a research project, shape an article and see how it will read before it goes out. ΔMBI, available through AmbientOS 1: Delta (Δ), helps them explore the material and find their next move. Take a look inside Studio.

Fourth Take on iPhone

Our native iOS app is in active development. It brings Fourth Take’s stories, source-led Vias and developing threads into a Feed made for iPhone, with ways to save, read and share what catches your eye.

We’re building the app around the journey from a headline to the wider story, including the people, places and sources connected to it. A native Studio experience is also in development for contributors.

Bring us a story.
